Laura Cranston is a strategic builder with extensive leadership experience working with diverse healthcare stakeholders. A pharmacist by training, she served as the CEO and Founder of the Pharmacy Quality Alliance for its first 15 years. Currently, she is a strategic consultant, and for the past 18 months has worked with the AMCP Foundation.
She is a convener, a connector and a strong collaborator who ties her passion to organizations that are purposeful in their mission. Laura’s career has focused on optimizing health by advancing the quality, safety and appropriateness of medication use and medication management. She has developed strategies that focus on developing meaningful, patient-centered metrics that drive stronger patient outcomes.
Laura has a pioneering spirit and as a servant leader, she established the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) and grew the organization from a vision held by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services into a vibrant, thriving nonprofit healthcare association with over 250 corporate members and a strategic board with 24 leaders from across the healthcare continuum. Under her leadership, PQA was the recipient of the 2010 APhA Pinnacle Award, in the nonprofit category for our leadership in assisting patients and their caregivers in achieving better outcomes from their medications.
Laura is a graduate of the St. John's University, College of Pharmacy and completed an Executive Fellowship with the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
