Carl is the current Executive Director of the University of Utah College of Pharmacy Pharmacotherapy Outcomes Research Center. His research focuses on the use of comparative effectiveness research and cost-effectiveness analysis to inform and improve health care decision making. He has contributed to over 150 peer-reviewed publications in the medical and economic journals, and has received funding from various federal agencies and pharmaceutical companies. He serves on several national and international boards and committees related to health economics, including editorial, grant review, and advisory bodies. His mission is to advance the science and practice of outcomes research and to contribute to the improvement of health outcomes and quality of life for patients and populations.
