(D1) Charting a Better Path in Managing Multiple Myeloma: Overcoming Challenges and Driving Solutions

Multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells, presents unique challenges within the managed care pharmacy framework. Over the past 25 years, the 5-year survival rate of patients with multiple myeloma has more than doubled due in part to recent scientific advances, including triplet/quadruplet regimens, bispecific antibodies, and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell products. However, such novel therapies pose high healthcare costs, highlighting the need for more effective management and treatments that can mitigate the economic burden of multiple myeloma.

Attendees will gain insights into various real-world, effective strategies for optimizing care delivery and navigating the managed care landscape of multiple myeloma. This session aims to bridge the gap between recent drug advances in the treatment of multiple myeloma and their associated managed care impact to ensure multiple myeloma patients receive the optimal care they deserve.
